Federal law wants to make sure consumers know when a call is from a collector, but also protect consumers from the risk that third parties might accidentally find out that the consumer has debts in collection. A third party could see that the consumer is getting calls from a collection agency either through the phone number or company name on caller ID. How would you balance possible privacy concerns with making sure consumers know who is calling them?
